The 2023 junior high baseball regionals are underway in Illinois.

South Central 2, CHBC 1 (CHBC says goodbye to 8th graders Charlie Witteborg, Harlan McConkey, Daithyn Arnold, Casey Macklin, Isaac Watts and Connor Vaughn)

Stewardson-Strasburg 15, Brownstown 0 (a three-inning no-hitter for Stew-Stras; at the plate for Stew-Stras: Manhart and Bible singles; McCray double; Friese 2 walks)

Teutopolis 10, North Clay 0 (Niemerg and Weidner teamed up for the win on the hill; at the plate for T-Town: Probst two doubles and single; Schumacher single; Bushur double; Niebrugge double and single; for North Clay: Hemphill got the lone hit)

The St. Anthony Bulldogs posted an 11-3 win over the Altamont Indians Wednesday.

The Bulldogs posted a six-spot in the first. Each team scored three times in the fifth, and St. Anthony added two runs in the sixth inning. St. Anthony registered 13 hits in the contest.

Samuel Link got the win for the Bulldogs, going 4-1/3 innings and allowing three runs, two earned, on eight hits, walking one and striking out two. Beau Adams pitched the final 2-2/3 innings, giving up one hit and fanning one batter.

Altamont's Kaden Davis retired just one batter, allowing six earned runs on six hits. Ethan Robbins pitched 3-2/3 scoreless innings, allowing four hits and two walks while fanning four. Keegan Schultz pitched an inning, allowing three earned runs on two hits and two walks. Kaidyn Miller pitched the final two innings, giving up two earned runs on a hit and four walks while striking out five.
