Effingham Junior High wrapped up its regular baseball season Tuesday, defeating Sullivan 11-0 in a five-inning contest.
Pals, Hayes and Braddy combined on a four-hit shutout for the Mustangs. At the plate for Effingham--Kinkelaar two singles, three runs scored; Hayes two triples and two doubles, three runs scored, 3 RBI; Fox single, run scored, 2 RBI; Nelson single; Pals two singles, two runs scored, RBI; Wendt walk, run scored; Mooney single, walk, run scored; Raddatz two singles, 2 RBI; Kalber two singles, RBI

Effingham finished the regular season with a 15-2 record. Effingham is the #1 seed and will host the regional, taking on the winner of the Pana/Robinson Nuttall game at 10am Saturday.

North Clay posted an 8-1 victory over Dieterich in National Trail Conference action.
The Cardinals scored three runs in the third, a run in the fifth, and four runs in the seventh. Dieterich scored its lone tally in the third.
Sophomore Jack Compton went the distance for the Cardinals, allowing five hits and no walks while striking out 12.
Meinhart went five innings for Dieterich, allowing four runs, three earned, on nine hits and three walks. Carson Baxter pitched 1-1/3 innings, giving up four runs, two earned, on three hits and four walks. Mason Lidy got the last two outs.

Brownstown/St. Elmo downed Neoga 10-7 in NTC action.
It was 4-3 BSE after one, then 5-1 after four. Neoga made it 5-4 in the middle of the sixth, but BSE scored five times in the bottom of the inning to take a 10-4 lead. Neoga made it interesting, scoring three times in the seventh before the game ended.
Dodge Willms got the win for BSE, going six innings and allowing four runs, all unearned, on three hits and two walks while fanning six. Corey Hoopingarner got the final two outs, allowing three earned runs on five htis. Riley Durdel took the loss for the Indians, going four innings and allowing five earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two. Trey Sheehan pitched the final two innings, giving up four unearned runs on four hits and two walks while fanning two.

BSE improved to 3-10 on the fall with the win, while Neoga fell to 3-8.

Altamont shut out South Central Tuesday 4-0.
The Indians scored in the third, added two in the fourth, and tallied another run in the fifth, totaling seven hits in the process.
Dillan Elam pitched a two-hit shutout for Altamont, striking out four and not allowing a walk.
Coen West went 4-2/3 innings for South Central, allowing four runs, two earned, on six hits and five walks while striking out five. Trevan Sidwell pitched the final 2-1/3 innings, giving up a hit and walking two while registering one strikeout.

The St. Anthony Bulldogs shut out Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday 5-0.
Aidan Lauritzen pitched the first six innings for the Bulldogs, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out six. Nick Ruholl pitched the final inning, striking out the side against one walk.
Kyle Lamb went the distance for the Bobcats, allowing five earned runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three.
Connor Roepke got St. Anthony off to a good start, hitting a three-run homer in the bottom of the first.
