Cubs Salvage Final Game Against Arizona, Cardinals Fall, Other MLB Scores from Sunday

The Chicago Cubs got a three-homer third inning from Christopher Morel, Cody Bellinger and Dansby Swanson on their way to a 5-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks to salvage the finale of their four-game weekend series.

Kyle Hendricks got the win, allowing the two runs in 5-2/3 innings of work and Ian Happ turned in a double play from left field as the Cubs moved back to 10 games above .500 and two games ahead of the Diamondbacks in the National League Wild Card race.

The Cubs open a series in Colorado tonight.

Cincinnati defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 7-1 Sunday, doing the bulk of their damage late in the game. It was 2-1 until the sixth. Miles Mikolas dropped to 7-11 with the loss. Andrew Knizner drove in the lone Redbird run, singling home Nolan Arenado in the fourth.

The Cardinals open a series in Baltimore tonight.
