BROWNSTOWN -- Effingham St. Anthony ripped out to a 6-0 first inning lead, tacked on seven more in the second and went on to down Brownstown/St. Elmo by a 14-1 count in five innings of high school baseball Tuesday.

Samuel Link picked up the win on the mound, going two innings, allowing no runs on no hits and one walk. Will Fearday came on to go two innings, allowing one run on two hits and stirking out three. Alex Meyer went the final inning with three strikeouts.

The Bulldogs finished with 10 hits led by Connor Roepke with a single,t riple and three RBI, Brady Hatton with a single,t riple and two RBI, Brock Fearday with a tirple and an RBI, W. Fearday with two singles and three RBI and Aiden Lauritzen with a single and two RBI.

Josiah Maxey and Adam Atwood had the two hits for BSE with singles each while Lowell Wilhour had an RBI. BSE dropped to 0-3 in the National Trail Conference, 2-7 overall and is back in action Thursday against Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran.

At Neoga

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg tallied a 7-2 victory over Neoga Tuesday.

WSS broke a 2-2 opening inning tie with a run in the second then had single runs in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

Jackson Gurgel went the distance, allowign two runs on three hits, four walks while striking out nine.

Kendall Morris led the way in the hitting department. He had a single, home run and two RBI. Branson Tingley also had a hot bat with two singles, a double and an RBI. Gurgel added ad ouble adn an RBI while Connor Manhart and Carter Verdeyen had a single and an RBI each.

Neoga had three hits, all singles, by Trey Sheehan, Riley Durdel and Brock Lanham. The Indians drop to 1-1 in the National Trail Confernece, 4-3 overall.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City blanked South Central in six innings, 10-0 Tuesday.

The Bobcats went on a hitting tear finishing with 10 led by Gage Lorton with a single, double and three RBI, AJ Radloff with a single, double and two RBI, Blake Mueller with two signles and two RBI, Kyle Lamb with two singles and Clayton Wojcik and Layne Jones with a isngle and an RBI each.

Meanwhile, Lamb kept the Cougars off balance. He went six inings, allwong three hits, four walks and stirking out four.

The Coguars were led by Lucas Bursott with a double.

At Altamont

Altamont picked up a National Trail Conference victory over North Clay/Clay City Tuesday. The Indians were 7-1 winners.

Kade Milleville threw a complete game, keeping the Cardinals off the bases with only one walk while striking out seven. He gave up one run on five hits.

Altamont edged ahead 1-0 in the second. Things were quiet through the third and fourth before the Indians had a six-run fifth.

Eli Miller and Ethan Robbins had a double each for the winners. Miller drove in two runs and Robbins one. Kaden Davis had two singles and two RBI and Nathan Stuemke a single and an RBI.

North Clay/Clay City was led by Jack Compton with two doubles and an RBI. The Cardinals dropped to 1-2 in the conference, 4-4 overall and return to action today at Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran.
