NEOGA -- Effingham St. Anthony broke a 3-3 tie with a run in the fourth then went on to down Neoga 7-3 in junior high baseball Thursday.

The Bullpups had nine hits in the contest led by Curtis Tingley with two singles and a double, Jonny Ganaway and Mike Fearday had a single and two RBI each and Mason Storm and Ben McDonald a single and an RBI each.

Charlie Hoene was the winner on the mound, going five innings, allowing three runs with one walk and striking out three.

Neoga was led by Sparrow with a single, double and three RBI and BalliNGer and Matusas with two singles each.

At Effingham

Effingham was a 9-5 winner over Charleston Thursday.

The Mustangs trailed Charleston 5-4 after five innings then had a big five-run sixth for the victory.

Effingham had 12 hits led by Hank Nelson with a double, triple and two RBI, Ian Kinkelaar, Westin Hayes and Jenner Pals with two singles each. Kinkelaar had an RBI. Carson Fox had a single and two RBI.

Fox came on to finish out on the mound and pick up the victory. He went 4.1 innings, allowing no runs on one hit, three walks and striking out seven.

Salem Franklin Park banged out 17 hits and captured an 8-3 win over Teutopolis Thursday.

Franklin Park edged ahead 2-1 in the first then had two-run innings in the second, fourth and seventh.

The Wooden Shoes had two hits compared to 17 for Franklin Park. Will Bushur had a double and an RBI and Luke Niebrugge a single and an RBI. Bennett Schumacher added an RBI.

Cowden-Herrick's Casey Macklin started on the mound and allowed only one hit and no runs over three innings. He walked one and struck out five as CHBC blanked Altamont, 15-0 Thursday.

The Bobcats bats came ailve with nine hits, five of them doubles and they drew seven walks. Isaac Wells led the Bobcats attack with a single, double and two RBI. Macklin had a double and two RBI while Cayden Ondes, Max Kircher and Lance Roadarmel had a double each. Ondes and Kircher had an RBI each. Kaisyn Calame chipped in with a single and two RBI.

Wells had two stolen bases including stealing home. Daithyn Arnold had two walks in the contest.

The Bobcats did not committ an error. They will return to action Friday hosting Neoga.

With 19 hits, Cumberland produced an 18-6 victory over Oblong in Thursday action.

The Raiders stepped out to a 10-3 opening inning lead and never looked back.

Evan Davis had two home runs and three RBI. Gatlin Murphy finished with three singles, a double and two RBI while Reed Walker had two singles, a double and an RBI. Gavin Wormhoudt added a single, double and three RBI and Colby Roedl finished with two singles and four RBI. Andrew Swim had a double and two RBI and Bentley Overbeck three singles.

Bronx Clapp was the winning pitcher with four hits, six walks and two strikeouts..

Dieterich tallied a 12-1 win over South Central in five innings Thursday despite behing outhit by an 8-7 count.

Dieterich tallied a run in the first, three in the second, seven in the third and one in the fourth.

Bryce Bohnhoff had a double and two RBI while Maddox Niemerg had a double and an RBI. Max Brummer had two singles and an RBI. Cooper Stortzum added a single and two RBI.

Logan Gipson went the distance, allowing one run on eight hits, one walk and striking out three.

NC/CC stands at 2-2 in the conference, 3-4 overall. The squad returns to action today at Brownstown.
