Effingham St. Anthony trailed Mattoon 4-2 in the top of the fifth but came back with three runs in the bottom of the frame and tacked on a run in the sixth for a 6-4 junior high baseball victory Tuesday.

Despite having four errors, the Bullpups outhit Mattoon by a 6-4 count. Mason Storm led the way with two singles, a triple and two RBI. Conner Storm and Jameson McAllaster added a double each.

Jonny Gannaway picked up the pitching win. C. Storm went four innings, allowing three runs on four hits, four walks and striking out one. Gannaway came on in the fifth, allowing one run, three walks and striking out two.

At Effingham

Effingham Sacred Heart pounded Altamont by a 16-0 count in four innings Tuesday.

The Shamrocks finished with eight hits. Mason Karolewicz had two singles and scored three runs while Nash Wernsing had a single, triple and three RBI and Freddie Jansen a single, double and three RBI. Owen Schuette drew three walks and scored four runs. He had one RBI.

Altamont was led by Lee and Burrus with a single each.

Cumberland held a 9-6 lead going into the sixth when Paris Crestwood broke loose with five runs and pulled out an 11-9 victory Tuesday.

Cumberland finished with seven hits in the contest. Bronx Clapp had two singles and an RBI while Colby Roedl added a single and three RBI. Bentley Overbeck had a single and triple.

Paris Crestwood finished with five errors and gave up eight walks. Cumberland had two errors and seven walks.

Harlan McConkey had another stellar start for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

The right-handed pitcher threw five innings of one hit ball, striking out eight and only walking two as the Bobcats blanked Ramsey 20-0 in six innings.

The Bobcats amassed 17 hits in the contest.

"Max Kircher had an exceptional performance," said CHBC Coach John Brown. "He went four-for-four with four singles and two RBI. Connor Vaughn nearly hit for the cycle with a single, double, triple and four RBIs. Isaac Wells was impressive going two for three with a double, home run and three RBI."

Charleston came calling and handed Teutopolis a 5-3 loss. Charleston ran off to a 3-0 first inning lead. The Wooden Shoes came battling back with a run in the second and knotted the score with two in the third.

But Charleston scored two runs in the top of the seventh for the win.

T-town outhit Charleston by a 9-7 count. Bennett Schumacher had a triple and an RBI while Will Bushur had two singles and Kagan Swingler a single and an RBI.

Neoga's winning pitcher put together five innings of one run, two hit ball with two walks while striking out 13 in downing Sigel St. Michael, 6-1.

Neoga had a two runs innings in the first, third and four innings for the win.
