Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City claimed Wednesday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 2-1 walk-off victory over South Central.

South Central had taken a 1-0 first inning lead before CHBC tied in the fourth. With the bases loaded and one out, Cayden Ondes singled scoring Harlan McConkey with the winnign run in the eighth inning.

The Bobcats started with a runner on second. Tockstein walked a batter then threw a wild pitch advancing the runners. South Central intentionally walked the next batter to load the bases. With one out, Ondes hit the game-winning single.

From the start, the game was a pitchers' duel. Isaac Wells and Connor Vaughn were both masterful on the mound. They combined to hold South Central to one run while striking out 14.

Vaughn stole home after Isasac Wells forced a rundown between first and second in the fourth inning for CHBC and that tied the contest after South Central had taken a 1-0 lead in the first.

Wells started on the mound, giving up three hits and one run over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out eight and walked one. Vaughn earned the win going 4 2/3 innings, allowing one hit while striking out six.

"Overall we had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game," said CHBC Coach John Brown. "We were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error."
