ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Cardinals rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning as Jordan Walker hit a bases-loaded triple and pulled out a 7-5 victory over Oakland Monday.

The Cardinals held a 1-0 lead after two innings but Oakland tallied two in the top of the fifth. St. Louis moved ahead with two in the bottom of the fifth. Paul Goldschmidt hit a 401 foot home run to left center and Edman scored.

But the lead was short-lived as Oakland came back with three runs in the seventh to lead 5-3.

Then it was the Cardinals turn to rally once again.

Oakland’s Angel Felipe loaded the bases as Goldschmidt, Andrew Knizner and Tyler O’Neill drew walks. Francisco Perez came on in relief and walked Lars Nootbaar to push St. Louis into a 5-4 lead.

Then it was time for Walker’s heroics as the rookie tripled and the Cardinals led 7-5 and that’s the way the scoring ended.

Tommy Edman had two singles and an RBI in the contest. Goldschmidt had a single, home run and two RBI and Jordan Walker had a single, triple and three RBi.
