Major League Baseball Began With First Round Selections Sunday

The 2023 Major League Baseball  Draft began with first round and second round selections Sunday.

The No. 1 pick was by the Pittsburgh Pirates and was Paul Skenes, a right-handed pitcher from LSU.

7. Cincinnati Reds, Rhett Lowder, right-handed pitcher, Wake Forest

8. Kansas City Royals, Blake Mitchell, catcher, Sinton High School (TEX)

9. Colorado Rockies, Chase Dollander, right-handed pitcher, University of Tennessee

10. Miami Marlins, Noble Meyer, right-handed pitcher, Jesuit High School (OR)
