The St. Louis Cardinals lost their fourth straight game Tuesday night. The San Francisco Giants beat the Redbirds 11-3.
The Chicago Cubs finally had a big offensive night, downing the division-leading Pittsburgh Pirates 11-3. The Cubs pulled within 5-1/2 games of the Pirates with the victory.
