Class 1A  Altamont Sectional

St Anthony 6, South Central 1 (The Bulldogs are headed for the SIU Carbondale 1A Super-Sectional on Monday at 10am against Goreville. South Central scored their lone run in the first inning when Andrew Magnus drove home Chase Thompson. St. Anthony tied the game in the second, then took the lead with a run in the fourth, scored three times in the fifth inning and added a run in the sixth; for St. Anthony at the plate: Eli Levitt double, run scored, RBI; Brock Fearday home run, run scored, 2 RBI; Connor Roepke triple, walk, run scored; Max Koenig single, walk, run scored, RBI; Brock Jansen single; Will Hoene walk; Henry Brent run scored; Ryan Schmidt single, run scored, RBI. At the plate for South Central: Chase Thompson run scored; Aidan Dodson two walks; Andrew Magnus RBI; Zane Montes walk; Ethan Watwood walk; Callaway Smith single, walk; Maddox Robb walk; Ethan Dunn single; Aidan Dodson went the distance on the mound for South Central, allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits and three walks with 10 strikeouts; Brock Fearday got the win for the Bulldogs, going 6-1/3 innings and allowing the one run on just one hit but six walks against six strikeouts; Eli Levitt got the final two outs, allowing one hit)

Olney 3A Regional Baseball

Effingham 8, Marion 1 (the Hearts captured the Olney Richland County Regional with the win and will play Troy Triad Wednesday at 6:30pm at the Centralia Sectional; the Hearts scored single runs in the first and third innings, then exploded for six runs in the fifth inning to break the game open; Marion scored their lone run in the seventh; Kaiden Nichols gave up five hits and three walks in 6-2/3 innings for the Hearts, striking out four; Jack Harper got the final out; Harper had a four-for-four day out of the leadoff spot, with a home run and three singles, scoring twice and driving in a run; Kaden Koeberlein doubled and singled; Camden Raddatz singled and walked and scored two runs; Quest Hull singled and walked, scored a run and drove in a run; Myles Maxedon singled twice and drove in two runs; Colton Webb scored a run; Evan Waymoth walked and drove in a run; Spencer Fox singled and walked twice, scored a run and drove in a run; Colton Loy scored a run)
