WALTONVILLE -- Effingham St. Anthony had a big-hitting contest and tallied an 11-2 victory over Waltonville at Rend Lake in high school baseball action Monday.

The Bulldogs edged out to a 2-1 opening inning lead but took charge from that point on.

St. Anthony had a 14-hit attack led by Eli Levitt with two singles, a double and an RBI while Aiden Lauritzen had a single, triple and an RBI. Brock Fearday and Ryan Schmidt had a double each. Beau Adams and Sam Link finished with two singles and an RBI each. Connor Roepke and Max Koenig had a single and drove in a run each.

Three players went to the hill for St. Anthony. Levitt threw five innings for the win, with a five-hitter, four walks and striking out three. Nick Ruholl came on for an inning, allowing one hit and striking out one. Lauritzen finished out the final inning with three strikeouts.

At Neoga

Altamont took the first inning lead and never looked back in an 8-2 victory over Neoga Monday.

Altamont edged ahead 2-0 in the first inning then tacked on single runs in the second and third and finished with four in the fourth.

Kienon Eirhart knocked out a home run and tallied three RBI while Dillan Elam added a double and an RBI. Nathan Shepard had two singles while Nathan Stuemke and Mason Robinson had a single and an RBI each.

Neoga was led by Malachi Staszak with two singles and Landon Titus had a single and an RBI.

Altamont used four pitchers while Neoga had three.

Stuemke was the winner going the first three innings, allowing three hits, one walk and striking out three. The Altamont foursome finished with a total of 13 strikeouts.

At Windsor

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg stepped out to a 4-0 opening inning lead and ended this contest over Dieterich by the 10-run rule in the sixth, 10-0 Monday.

The Hatchets finished with seven hits and were aided by 10 Dieterich errors.

Carter Chaney had three singles while Austin Wittenberg had two singles. Jordan Wittenberg added a single and drove in two runs. Connor Manhart had a single and an RBI.

J. Wittenberg was the winner on the mound, going all six innings, allowing four hits, no walks while striking out six. Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg now sports a perfect 9-0 record.

Dieterich was led by Garrett Niebrugge with a single and double.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead and went on to blank Ramsey, 11-0 in Monday action.

The Bobcats also had 11 hits in the contest. Clayton Wojcik led the way with two singles, a double and two RBI while Carson Evans had a single and double, AJ Radloff a double and two RBI, Gage Lorton a double and an RBI and Jacob Doty two singles and three RBI.

Evans picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter.

South Central broke a 1-1 opening inning tie with a four-run second and went on for a 15-1 victory over Odin/Patoka/Sandoval in five innings Monday.

The Cougars' Aidan Dodson knocked out two home runs and finished with five RBI. Maddox Robb had a double and two RBI, Brody Markely two singles, Chase Thompson a single and two RBI and Andrew Magnus, Colton Smith and Ethan Watwoon a single and an RBI each.

Watwood was the winning pitcher, going three innings, allowing one run on two hits and two strikeouts. Ethan Dunn finished the last two innings allowing one hit and striking out four.

Newton had a five-run third and claimed a 6-4 victory over Muont Carmel Monday.

Despite being outhit by a 13-11 count and finishing with two errors, the Eagles held off Mount Carmel.

David Ferguson had two singles, a triple and an RBI while Isaac Flowers added two singles and three RBI. Carder Reich finished with two singles and an RBI and Gage Reynolds a double adn an RBI.

Brandon Einhorn went five innings, allowing three runs on 10 hits, no walks and three strikeouts for the win. Owen Mahaffey went two innings, allowing one run on three hits and two strikeouts.
