Neoga, WSS, T-town, S. Central Nab Friday Baseball Wins

OBLONG -- Neoga High School started with two runs in the first inning and went on to blank Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville 5-0 in baseball competition Friday.

The Indians tacked on a single run in the fourth and two more in the sixth.

Neoga had five hits led by Brady Reynolds with two singles. Quintin Richards and Trey Sheehan had an RBI each.

Sheehan was the winning pitcher, going four innings, allowing four hits, one walk and striking out two.

At Casey

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg took a 6-2 opening inning lead and went on to end the contest 15-3 via the 10-run rule in the fifth Friday.

The Hatchets had 15 hits in the contest led by Jordan Wittenberg with two singles, a double and three RBI, R. Rincker with a single and double, Jackson Gurgel with two singles and an RBI and Austin Wittenberg with a double.

J. Wittenberg picked up the win on the mound, going three innings, allowing three runs on three hits, one walk and striking out two. Gurgel came on to throw the final three innings allowing two hits, two walks and striking out four.

At Flora

Teutopolis tallied three runs in the second and went on for a 5-1 victory over Flora Friday.

Logan Lawson went 6.1 innings allowing one run on two hits, two walks while striking out seven for the win.

Meanwhile, T-town took a 3-0 lead in the second inning then tacked on single runs in the third and seventh.

Logan Roepke had a single and double while Mitch Jansen had a single and two RBI and Evan Waldhoff a single and an RBI. Caleb Siemer added an RBI.

South Central took a 1-0 first inning lead and went on for a 10-2 victory over Carlyle Friday.

The Cougars tallied four in the fourth, one in the fifth, three in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Zane Montes led South Central with three singles and two RBI, Anthony Buonaura a double and an RBI, Brody Markley a double, Chase Thompson and Ethan Watwood a single and an RBI each and Andrew Magnus a single and two RBI.

C. Smith went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits, two walks and striking out seven.
