OCC Coach Dennis Conley Captures 1,500th Career Coaching Win

OLNEY -- Olney Central College baseball coach, Dennis Conley claimed his 1,500th win as a head coach over last weekend.

His Blue Knighits won six in a row in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina during weekend action. The team defeated the Scouts USA Team 10-0 and downed Manhattenville JV 11-1 on Friday. The team then claimed two more wins Saturday over Penn State/Dubois 3-0 and the College of DuPage 10-0.

In Sunday play, the Knights captured a doubleheader over Henry Ford College, 13-8 and 8-0.

With the second victory Saturday, Coach Conley garnered his 1,500th win in his career.

Coach Conley began his 43rd year as the baseball coach at OCC. He entered the 2022-23 season with 39 consecutive winning seasons, 35 years of 30-plus wins and 18 years of 40-plus wins.

Conley played baseball when attending Eastern Illinois University from 1975-1979. He earned a bachelor's degree from EIU in 1979 and his master's degree in 1980. He and his wife Cathy have two daughters, Megan and Alexis and five grandchildren.

Four year schools have signed 302 Blue Knights to scholarships during Coach Conley's tenure. He has coached 189 NJCAA All-Americans and 44 NJCAA Academic All-Americans at OCC. Forty-five Blue Knights have signed professional baseball contracts.
