(MASON ROBINSON POSED WITH HIS ALTAMONT BASEBALL TEAMMATES AT HIS SIGNING CEREMONY ON NOVEMBER 9)

Altamont Community High School senior Mason Robinson has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Kaskaskia College in Centralia.

Robinson said the chance to live in a larger community, but one not so far away from home was an attraction. He said, though, that he likes the KC program and said that his game and that of Kaskaskia Coach Mitch Koester are a lot alike. He plans to focus on Gen Ed courses while at Kaskaskia, and is definitely interested in furthering his education and his baseball career.

Altamont baseball coach Alan Whitt said that Mason is a quality player, one who is the best player at whatever position he asks him to play.

Whitt's confidence in Robinson's ability is echoed by KC Coach Mitch Koester. Our Greg Sapp spoke with Koester at the signing ceremony...

Mason said that he has a lifelong love of baseball. He and Greg talked about that and what his future might hold...

Mason is the son of Matt and Ann Robinson of Edgewood.
