The Houston Astros clinched their second World Series title in six seasons when they beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 in Game 6 Saturday night.

Astros Manager Dusty Baker also won his first crown as a manager, he had been to the World Series twice before as a skipper but fell short. Baker is now the oldest championship manager in any of the four major North American sports.

Mets Retain Edwin Diaz

The New York Mets retained their star closer Edwin Diaz when both sides agreed on a five-year, $102 million contract making Díaz the highest-paid reliever in Major League Baseball.

The agreement also includes a team option for 2028 which would make it a six-year, $122 million deal but Díaz has the option to opt out after the third year. Edwin also has a no-trade clause with his new deal per reports.
