S. Central Beats Altamont On Walk-off Single; BSE, CHBC Win In EIC Tourney, N. Clay Pounds Cisne

Trailing 6-4 going into the seventh, Altamont moved ahead with three runs on a single by Mason Robinson and a two-run homer by Jared Hammer. The Indians held a 7-6 lead.
But the Cougars weren't done yet. Buonaura slapped out a walkoff single scoring two runs to pull out the 8-7 victory in the bottom of the seventh.
Altamont scored in the first inning with two runs but South Central tied in the third and moved ahead 4-2 in the fourth. Altamont came back to knot the score in the fifth and, once again, the Cougars moved ahead in the sixth, 6-4 Then came the fireworks by both squads in the seventh.
Both teams finished with 11 hits each. Aidan Dodson had two singles, a double and two RBI for South Central while Chase Thompson had three singles. Callaway Smith added two RBI while Colton Smith had two singles. Andrew Magnus added a single and an RBI and Ethan Watwood had an RBI.
Altamont was led by Hammer with a single, home run and two RBI, Kienon Eirhart with two singles and an RBI, Logan Cornett two singles, Nathan Shepard and Wyatt Phillips a double each and Robinson and Carter Siebert a single and an RBI each.
Watwood picked up the win on the mound for South Central going 0.1 of an inning allowing two hits and one walk. Dodson went 6.2 innings allowing seven runs on nine hits, two walks and striking out 11.

At Brownstown
Brownstown/St. Elmo trounced Ramsey by an 18-3 count in the Egyptian-Illini Conference Baseball Tournament Tuesday.
BSE broke a 0-0 first inning tie with a seven-run second. Ramsey came back with three in the top of the third but BSE scored two more to lead 9-3 then ended the cotnest in the fourth with nine runs.
BSE had 11 hits led by Adam Atwood with two singles, a triple and two RBI, Corey Hoopingarner with two singles and an RBI, Cade Schaub with two singles and two RBI and Jarrett Pasley with a single and two RBI.
Ramsey was led by Moreland with a triple.
BSE improved to 8-8 on the season and will finish out a game that started Monday and was called due to darkness. The Bombers will face Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 4:30 p.m. today. The score was tied at 3-3 through nine innings.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City blanked Mulberry Grove, 3-0 at Mulberry Grove Tuesay.
The two teams had a 0-0 tie through the first four innings before CHBC tallied two in the fifth and one in the seventh.
Clayton Wojcik had three singles to lead CHBC while Gage Lorton had two singles and two RBI. Jacob Doty added a double and an RBI.
AJ Radloff went seven innings allowing no runs on four hits, no walks while striking out 10.
The tournament comes to a close Thursday at Greenville University as CHBC takes on Ramsey at 4:15 and BSE faces Mulberry Grove at 7.
