Sigel St. Michael played host to Effingham Sacred Heart and picked up an 8-5 victory in junior high baseball action Friday.

The Shamrocks broke a 2-2 opening inning tie with two runs in the second. But the lead was short-lived as St. Michael came back with a six-run third.

Both teams had nine hits. The Sharpshooters were led by Brandt Niebrugge with three singles and two RBI, Evan Fearday with two singles and three RBI and Alex Mayer with two singles.

At Beecher City

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City ended the game in the sixth inning via the 10-run rule, by an 11-1 count over Brownstown/St. Elmo Friday.

CHBC had eight hits led by Carter Dilly with a double, two triples and an RBI. Connor Vaughn had two singles and four RBI.

Dilley also picked up the win on the mound, going four innings, allowing one run, no walks while striking out six.

Lach led Brownstown/St. Elmo with a double while Willms had two singles.

At Beecher City

Altamont Lutheran came calling and picked up a 7-1 victory over Newton St. Thomas Friday.

Grady Michl and Dylan Earnest had a single each for St.Thomas, which dropped to 4-7 on the season.
