Neoga, Dieterich, S. Central Nab Baseball Wins

CENTRALIA -- Neoga High School trailed Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran by a 1-0 count until the sixth inning, then broke loose with three runs for the 3-1 baseball victory Thursday.

The Indians had seven hits in the contest and was aided by three CORL errors.

Neoga's Micah Staszak claimed the win on the mound, going all seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, no walks and four strikeouts.

The Indians were led offensively by Matt Propst with two singles and two RBI.

Neoga stands at 2-4 on the season.

At Centralia

At Dieterich

Dieterich stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and went on to beat Odin, 16-1 in five innings Thursday.

The Movin' Maroons had seven hits led by Noah Dill with two doubles and Jaxon Funneman with a double and an RBI. Garrett Niebrugge, Carson Baxter and Mason Lidy had a single and an RBI each.

Lucas Westendorf threw a two-hitter, allowing three walks while striking out 10.

At Mulberry Grove

South Central edged out to a 2-1 opening inning lead then had to hold off a final inning challenge by Cisne for an 8-6 victory Thursday.

The Cougars held a n 8-2 lead going into the bottom of the seventh when Cisne came to life, scoring four runs before South Central could get out of the inning.

Aidan Dodson had a single, home run and three RBI for the winners while Anthony Buonaura had a solo homer. Ethan Watwood finished with two singles and an RBI and Brody Markley a double.

C. Smith picked up the pitching win, going six innings, allowing two runs on three hits, two walks and striking out four.

At Cisne

At Mulberry Grove

Mulberry Grove edged Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 11-9 in Thursday action.

CHBC held a 5-3 lead after two innings but Mulberry Grove moved ahead with five runs in the third. CHBC pulled within 8-7 in the fourth but Mulberry Grove tallied three more. CHBC had a two-run sixth but fell short.

CHBC had 13 hits led byCarson Evans with a single, double, triple and three RBI, Clayton Wojcik with three singles and three RBI, Conner Nowitzke with three singles, J. Doty with a single, double and two RBI and Gage Lorton with a triple.
