SIGEL -- Sigel St. Michael edged Neoga 10-9 in junior high baseball competition Tuesday.

 

Neoga took a 4-0 first inning lead but the Sharpshooters came back with two in the second and tied in the third. Neoga moved ahead 6-4 after four and 8-4 in the top of the sixth. St. Michaell tallied five in the bottom of the sixth to move ahead 9-8. Neoga tied in the top of the seventh and St. Michael won the game in the bottom of the frame.

The Sharpshooters had 15 hits in the contest including two singles, a home run and three RBI by Bryce Niebrugge, Alex Mayer with a single, double, home run and four RBI, Brandt Niebrugge with three singles, Mason Platz with two singles and an RBI, Evan Fearday with two singles and Victor Walk with a single and two RBI.

Bryce Niebrugge went 4.2 innings on the mound before Walk came on to throw the final 2.1 innings for the win, allowing two runs on three hits, two walks and two strikeouts.

Neoga was led by C. Hakman with two singles, a double and an RBI, G. Ballinger with a single and double, B. Strobl with a single, double and two RBI and K. Bryant with a double.

At Cowden

Kendrick Stoldt had to go only three innings but pitched a no-hitter as Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City blanked Ramsey, 16-0 Tuesday.

Stoldt allowed one walk and struck out four.

Meanwhile, CHBC had seven hits led by Cale Reed with a single, double, triple and five RBI. Connor Vaughn and Stoldt had a single and two RBI each.

CHBC is back in action Thursday at Altamont.
