Effingham St. Anthony edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead and went on to down Dieterich, 8-1 Tuesday in high school baseball action.

Eli Levitt took charge on the mound. He went six innings with 13 strikeouts, allowing no runs on five hits and two walks.

The Bulldogs had nine hits in the contest, four of those for extra bases. Levitt led the way offensively with a single, double, triple and two RBI while Brock Fearday had a single, double and an RBI and Beau Adams and Max Koenig a double and an RBI each.

Sam Link came on to throw the final inning, allowing one run and one walk.

Dieterich had five hits led by Mason Lidy with two singles.

At St. Anthony

At Cowden

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City went scoreless through five innings and then both came to life in the sixth. The Hatchets had a 6-2 run in the sixth and that's where the scoring ended.

Carter Chaney went four innings for WSS, allowing no runs on two hits, one walk and seven strikeouts. Rhett Rincker came on to finish out the final three innings, allowing two runs on one hit, three walks and five strikeouts for the win.

WSS banged out 10 hits in the contest, led by Jackson Gurgel with a single, double and an RBI, Ben Bridges with a double and two RBI and Kendall Morris with a double and an RBI. Austin Wittenberg added a single and drove in a run.

CHBC was led by C. Evans with a single and an RBI.

At Cowden

Mason Robinson went the distance for Altamont, throwing a no-hitter in five innings Tuesday.

Robinson allowed three walks while striking out 12 in the gem on the mound.

Meanwhile, Altamont had seven hits and ended the game in the fifth inning, 12-0.

Robinson aided his own cause offensively with a single, double and two RBI while Jared Hammer had a double and two RBI. Wyatt Phillips added two singles and an RBI. Dillan Elam, Eli Miller and C. Siebert had a single and an RBI each.

At Altamont

Brownstown/St. Elmo put together a 17-hit attack and handed Wayne City/Webber Township an 18-9 loss Tuesday.

BSE stepped out to a 9-2 opening inning lead but Wayne City/Webber pulled back within 9-5 in the top of the third before BSE took off again.

The Bombers banged out 17 hits in the contest led by Cade Schaub with two singles, a double and four RBI, Wyatt Forbes with two singles, a double and two RBI, Jarrett Pasley with two triples and an RBI, Adam Atwood and Wyatt Stine with two singles and an RBI each and Josiah Maxey with two singles. Kyle Behl had a single and two RBI.

Brownstown/St. Elmo evened its record at 3-3 and returns to action today against Mulberry Grove.

South Central's Anthony Buonaura threw a one-hitter as the Cougars handed North Clay/Clay City a 7-1 loss Tuesday.

Buonaura went six innings, allowing one run on one hit, one walk while striking out 10. Ethan Watwood came on to finish out the seventh with two walks and one strikeout.

The Cougars had nine hits led by C. Thompson with two singles and two RBI, Watwood with two singles and an RBI and Buonaura with a double and an RBI.

North Clay/Clay City's lone hit was a double by Cody Zimdars.
