The Altamont Indians used a six-run fourth inning to propel themselves to a 7-4 victory Monday over the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes in Game One of a doubleheader. The game at Altamont was heard on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com

Altamont made a great defensive play in the top of the fourth that seemed to generate the offensive explosion in the bottom of the frame.

Dillan Elam got the win for the Indians, allowing just one run until the seventh inning when two singles and a three-run homer to left from Caleb Bloemer led to the call to rightfielder Eli Miller to finish the contest.

Nathan Stuemke and Mason Robinson, at the top of the Altamont order, each had three hits to spark the Altamont attack. Stuemke had three singles while Robinson also finished with three singles and two RBI. Jared Hammer chipped in with two singles and an RBI.

Conner Siemer had two singles and Caleb Siemer a double for the Shoes.

The win evened Altamont's record on the fall at 2-2. Teutopolis fell to 2-4.
