Wooden Shoes Blank Indians In Baseball

NEOGA -- Teutopolis stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and went on to blank Neoga 7-0 in high school baseball action Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes had eight hits in the contest, three of those long balls. C. Siemer hit a shot and finished with three RBI while M. Jansen hit a home run and had two RBI. B. Thompson had a single and a solo home run.

C. Hoelscher picked up the pitching win, going three innings allowing no runs, three hits, one walk and striking out three. C. Hoene came on to go four innings, allowing no runs on two hits, no walks and four strikeouts.

T-town is now 1-2 on the season and will be back in action Saturday hosting the Wooden Bat Tournament. In the opener, the Shoes will face St. Anthony at 9 a.m. followed by North Clay (Louisville) taking on Dieterich at 11. The losers will play for third at 1 p.m. with the winners meeting for the championship at 3.

Neoga had five hits in the contest led by Q. Richards with two singles.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) played host to Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Thursday.

The contest ended in a 5-5 tie. The Cardinals are now 2-0-1 on the season.

North Clay will be back in action today at St. Elmo/Brownstown for a 4:30 p.m. National Trail Conference contest.
