The Philadephia Phillies’ Bryce Harper will have surgery today to repair his broken left thumb, which he suffered when he was hit by a pitch against the San Deigo Padres Saturday.

Phillies mananger Rob Thomson didn’t give a timetable Tuesday for the reigning National League MVP’s return. However, the team is hopeful he’ll be back this season.

Bradley Breaks Bone In Elbow

Los Angeles Angels reliever Archie Bradley broke a bone in his elbow during the brawl between the Angels and Seattle Mariners Sunday that has led to a total of 12 players and coaches getting suspensions.

Bradley hurt his elbow when he slipped and fell while climbing over the dugout railing. His injury is the second as a result of the brawl, after Mariners catcher Luis Torrens went on the 10-day injured list Monday with a sore shoulder.
