Los Angeles Dodgers starter Tyler Anderson lost a no-hitter with one out in the ninth inning Wednesday night on a triple by the Los Angeles Angels’ Shohei OhtanI, the reigning AL MVP.

Anderson struck out eight and threw a career-high 123 pitches, 78 of them for strikes, in the game that the Dodgers went on to win 4-1. Anderson was pulled from the gameafter Ohtani’s triple to a standing ovation from the home crowd.

Craig Kimbrel came in and gave up an RBI single before closing out the game.

Astors' Garcia, Maton Throw Immaculate Innings

Houston Astros starter Luis Garcia and reliever Phil Maton each threw an immaculate inning -- meaning nine pitches for three strikeouts -- in a 9-2 win over the Texas Rangers Thursday night.

It was the first time there have been two immaculate innings not only in one day, but in one game, in Major League Baseball history.

Garcia had his immaculate inning in the second, and Maton had his in the seventh -- and both did it against the same three Rangers batters.
