CHBC, Neoga Win Baseball Regional Openers

The Bobcats edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then tallied two in the second and broke loose with an eight-run third and finished out with four in the fourth.
Quaid Schlanser threw a one-hitter for the win on the mound.
Schlanser also was on offensively with a single, triple and two RBI. Wyatt Rueff had two singles and drove in three runs while Wes Radloff and Conner Nowitzke had two singles and two RBI each.
CHBC is now 8-11 on the season and advances to Wednesday action to face Effingham St. Anthony at 4:30 p.m. The second game Wednesday will have Altamont taking on Brownstown/St. Elmo at 6:30 p.m.

Class 1A Casey-Westfield Regional
Neoga pounded Martinsville in opening round play of the Casey-Westfield Regional Monday, 13-0.
The two teams were scoreless in the opening frame before Neoga edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning. The Indians brought home five in the third and seven in the fourth to end the contest by the 10-run rule.
Quintin Richards went four innings to pick up the win. He did not allow a hit or walk and struck out eight.
Kaden Young, Will O'Dell and Richards had two singles and two RBI each. Luke Romack had a double and an RBI. Bryar Hennesay had a single and two RBI.
In the other contest Monday, Kansas Co-op ended Cumberland's season by a 10-0 count. Kansas will meet Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Neoga advances to face Casey-Westfield Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Class 1A North Clay (Louisville) Regional
Dieterich fell in opening round play of the North Clay Regional.
Cisne captured a 10-8 victory. Cisne now advances to face North Clay at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Dieterich held a 3-0 first inning lead and led 4-0 after three. But Cisne came back with five in the top of the fourth to take the lead. However, the Movin' Maroons tallied three in the bottom of the frame to lead 7-5. Cisne then scored four in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Dieterich attempted a comeback, scoring one in the bottom of the frame, but fell short.
The Maroons outhit Cisne by an 11-10 count. Pete Britton had two singles, a double and two RBI while Noah Dill added a double. Garrett Niebrugge, Jaxon Funneman and Sam Hardiek had two singles each.

Class 2A Vandalia Regional
Vandalia opened its regional with a 10-3 victory over Greenville Monday.
The Vandals advance to meet Paris at 4 p.m. Wednesday. In the second contest, Teutopolis will meet Salem at 6 p.m.
Class 2A Newton Regional
Marshall and Robinson picked up opening round victories in the Newton Regional.
In the first contest, Marshall edged Oblong, 4-3. Marshall advances to face Newton at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The second game went to Robinson over Lawrenceville, 5-4. Robinson will now meet Flora at 4 p.m .Thursday.
