The Hatchets moved into a 5-1 first inning lead. Newton came back with a run in the sixth and tallied two in the top of the seventh only to fall short.
WSS' Graham Kasey was the winning pitcher, going five innings, allowing one run on four htis, four walks while striking out five.
Newton outhit Windsor/Stew-Stras by an 8-4 count. The Hatchets were led by Colin Kinkelaar with a single and two RBI and Jordan Wittenberg and Kasey with a single and an RBI each. Gavan Wernsing also had a single.
Newton was led by Mason Mulvey with two singles and two RBI, Isaac Flowers with two singles and Gage Reynolds with a double.
Windsor/Stew-Stras improved to 17-3 on the season.

At Olney
Teutopolis pounded out 13 hits and was aided by four Olney errors in a 17-3 win in five innings Thursday.
The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then tacked on another run in the second, four in the third, seven in the fourth and ended the game in the fifth with four more runs.
Logan Roepke had a triple while Derek Konkel had a double and two RBI for the Shoes. Garrett Gaddis added two singles and an RBI and Cade Buehnerkemper two singles. Dylan Pruemer and Siemer had a single and two RBI each. Kayden Althoff, Joseph Ruholl and Siemer had a single and an RBI each.
Three pitchers took the mound for the Shoes. Sam Bushur got the victory, going four innings allowing no runs on one hit, two walks and two strikeouts.
The Wooden Shoes are now 20-10 on the season while Bushur pushed his record to 6-2.

Mulberry Grove took the early lead but Neoga came back to tie the score in the third and move ahead in the fourth and went on for a 4-2 victory Thursday.
Neoga had six hits in the contest led by Will O'Dell with two singles and three RBI, Ryan Koester two singles and M. Staszxak with a double.
Luke Romack picked up the win, going four innings allowing one run on three hits, one walk while striking out seven.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City finished with 11 hits and tallied a 12-2 victory over Martinsville in seven innings Thursday.
CHBC scored three in the third and single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings then finished out with six in the seventh.
The Bobcats had 11 hits led by Jacob Doty with three singles and Quaid Schlanser with two singles and three RBI. Silas Buzzard and Gage Lorton added a single and two RBI each.
Doty was the winner in the mound.

South Central came calling and downed Dieterich 12-2 Thursday.
The Cougars stepped out to a 6-0 first inning lead. Both teams scored two in the fourth and South Central finished out with four in the seventh.
South Central banged out 12 hits in the game. Beau Jolliff hit a home run and finished with three RBI. Aidan Dodson had a single, double and two RBI while Chase Thompson added three singles and two RBI. Anthony Buonaura and Spencer Johannes had a double and two RBI each. Andrew Magnus finished with three singles.
Jolliff went five innings on the mound for the win. He allowed two runs on four hits, two walks while striking out five.
Dieterich was led in hitting by Noah Dill with two singles and Sam Hardiek with a single and two RBI.

Altamont struggled to get its offense going and Champaign Central took advantage for an 11-1 victory Thursday.
Champaign Central tallied six runs in the fourth inning after edging out to a 2-1 lead in the second. Central then added three in the fifth to end the contest via the 10-run rule.
Despite garnering seven hits in the contest, the Indians couldn't get the runs home. Kaidyn Miller had two singles and drove in the lone run. Tyler Robbins and Wyatt Phillips had two singles each.
Central had eight hits and C. Bartlett got the win on the mound with one walk and three strikeouts.
