South Central, North Clay Win; Neoga Drops Game In Baseball

KINMUNDY -- South Central High School broke a 2-2 deadlock with a five-run seventh inning to pull out a baseball win over Olney, 7-2 Wednesday.

Both teams tallied two runs in the first inning then went the next five innings scoreless.

South Central had eight hits in the contest led by Spencer Johannes with two singles and an RBI. Anthony Buonaura had a single and two RBI while Andrew Magnus and Ethan Watwood had a single and an RBI each.

Johannes came on in the second inning to pitch and went six innings allowing no runs on five hits, three walks while striking out four.

At Flora

North Clay (Louisville) blanked Flora, 11-0 in five innings Wednesday.

Donnie Zimmerman was the winning pitcher.

North Clay is now 25-5 on the season and will host Waltonville today.

 

At Paris

Neoga traveled to Paris and suffered a 7-0 loss to the homestanding Tigers Wednesday.

Paris took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, added on three in the fourth and one each in the fifth and sixth innings.

Kohlmeyer went six innings allowing no runs on one hit, four walks while striking out five for the Tigers.

The lone hit for Neoga was a single by Kaden Young.
