Altamont, T-town Split; Neoga Wins, BSE Falls In Baseball

The Wooden Shoes edged Altamont 4-3 in the opener..
Altamont took a 1-0 first inning lead when Jared Hammer singled. But the Wooden Shoes came back with a four-run second and that's all it took.
The Indians had sinigles in the third and fifth but couldn't get the lead again.
Both teams were on offensively, T-town with 10 hits and Altamont with 11.
The Shoes were led by Caleb Bloemer with a single and double, Dylan Pruemer with a double and an RBI and Mitch Althoff and Kayden Althoff with two singles each.
Altanont was led by Dillan Elam with a double, Hammer and Kienon Eirhart with two singles and an RBI each and Mason Robinson withi two singles.
In the second game, Altamont struck early again and this time held off T-town for a 5-3 victory.
The Indians led 1-0 after the first, 3-0 in the third and 5-0 after the fourth. T-town's runs came in the sixth.
Altamont had only three hits, all singles by Robinson, Tyler Robbins and Hayden Siebert. Robbins and Robinson had two RBI each.
Aden McManaway picked up the win on the mound going six innings allowng three runs on three hits, two walks and striking out nine.
T-town is now 19-9 on the season while Altamont goes to .500 at 13-13. T-town is back in action today at Benton while Altamont returns to play, hosting Brownstown/St. Elmo today.
In junior varsity play, Altamont was a 4-3 winner while T-town claimed a 10-6 victory.
In the opener, both teams had five hits. Clayton Arnold led Altamont with two singles and an RBI. Austin Bloemer had a double and an RBI for T-town.
Both teams had nine hits in the second contest. Keegan Schultz led Altamont with a double, home run and two RBI. T-town was led by Jake Bushur, Drew Hoene and Henry Thompson with two singles and an RBI each.

Neoga played host to South Central and picked up a 9-4 victory Monday.
The Indians held a 3-0 lead in the second inning, then tacked on two in the third, one in the fourth and three more in the sixth. South Central's four runs came in the fifth.
Both teams had eight hits but South Central finished with three errors.
Luke Romack had a single, home run and two RBI while Ryan Koester had a home run and four RBI. Trey Sheehan added a single and two RBI.
South Central was led by Aidan Dodson with a home run and three RBI, Chase Thompson with three singles, Spencer Johannes with two singles and Anthony Buonaura with a single and an RBI.

Mulberry Grove handed Brownstown/St. Elmo a 5-1 loss at GCS Ballpark in Sauget Monday.
Mulberry Grove stepped out to a 4-1 opening inning lead and the only other run came in the third for the Aces.
Brownstown/St. Elmo outhit Mulberry Grove by a 6-3 count but finished with three errors.
Adam Atwood, Dalton Myers and Jarrett Pasley had a double each for BSE.
Scoggins picked up the pitching win for Mulberry Grove going all seven innings, allowing six hits, two walks while striking out 13.
Brownstown/St. Elmo is now 9-9 on the season and returns to action today at Altamont.
