Effingham St. Anthony claimed an 8-2 victory over Marshall in non-conference baseball action Saturday.

The Bulldogs had a four-run third inning then tacked on two in the fourth and single runs in the sixth and seventh.

St. Anthony had nine hits led by Connor Roepke with a solo home run, Eli Levitt with a single, double amd two RBI and Colton Fearday with a single and double.

Brock Jansen picked up the pitching win, going four innings, allowing one run on one hit, three walks while striking out six. Josh Blanchette came on to go the final three innings, allowing one run on three hits, no walks and one strikeout.

At  Marshall

At Lincoln

Effingham fell to Lincoln in an Apollo Conference doubleheader Saturday.

In the opener, both teams were strong on the hill but Lincoln was just a littlebit stronger at the plate with a 2-1 win over the Hearts.

Josh McDevitt started the game for Effingham and recorded 17 outs, 12 of those on strikeouts but ended up being the tough-luck loser.

Lincoln tallied two runs in the fourth after the Hearts scored its lone run in the third. Lincoln had only three hits, one hit drove in a run.

The lone hit for the Hearts was a single by Gauge Massey. John Harper had the lone RBI.

Mammen won on the mound for the Railsplitters  going 5.1 innings allowing one run on one hit, three walks and striking out 11.

In the second contest, Lincoln moved ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth then tacked on two more runs in the fifth for a 4-1 victory.

The Railsplitters had six hits while two pitchers combined to allow four hits for the Hearts while striking out 10.

Myles Maxedon and Joe Matteson had a double each for EHS while Kaiden Nichols and Massey had a single each.

Hoffert led Lincoln with a double and drove in two runs. The other two runs came home on singles.

Brayden Pals suffered the loss going six innings, allowing four runs on six hits, two walks while striking out eight.

At Teutopolis

Centralia took a 1-0 lead in the first inning but Teutopolis came back strong with a five-run second and went on for a 10-4 victory Friday.

The Wooden Shoes had 12 hits in the contest led by Kayden Althoff with a single and solo home run, Caleb Siemer with a double, home run and four RBI, Sam Bushur with a double and two RBI, Cade Buehnerkemper with a double and an RBI and Mitch Althoff with a double. Dylan Pruemer had two singles and Max Niebrugge a single and an RBI.

Pruemer was the winner going five innings allowing four runs on three hits, four walks and striking out seven.

In a Saturday contest, Nashville edged the Wooden Shoes, 8-7.

Nashville broke a 1-1 opening inning tie with three in the second. T-town tallied one in the third before Nashville scored two in the fourth and two in the fifth innings to lead 8-2. T-town came back with four in the sixth and one in the seventh to fall a run short.

T-town had five hits led by Siemer with a double, home run and four RBI and Caleb Bloemer with a double.

T-town is now 10-6 on the season. Nashville improved to 18-4. T-town will be back in action, weather permitting, today hosting South Central.

Brownstown/St. Elmo improved to 7-5 on the season with an 11-8 win over Mulberry Grove Friday.

BSE stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and never looked back. The Bombers had 15 hits in the contest led by Brady Maxey, with a single, double, home run and two RBI, Wyatt Chandler with a single, home run and two RBI, Dalton Myers with a home run and three RBI, Kevin  Hall with a single and two doubles, Kyle Behl with two singles and an RBI and Nick Nelson with a single, double and two RBI. Jarrett Pasley added two singles and an RBI.

BSE is back in action Tuesday at Cumberland.

At Brownstown

Neoga tallied a 5-2 win over Dieterich Friday.

The Indians took a 1-0 lead in the third inning then had a four-run fourth for a 5-2 win. Dieterich's runs came in the sixth.

Will O'Dell picked up the pitching win, going five innings, allowing no runs on two hits, no walks while striking out six. Bryar Hennesay came on to finish out the final two innings allowing two runs on three hits, one walk and one strikeout.

Neoga had six hits led by O'Dell with a single, double and four RBI and Kaden Young with a double. M. Staszak added two singles.

Dieterich was led by Noah DIll with two singles and Pete Britton with a single and an RBi. Britton gave up the loss on the mound going all seven innings, allowing five runs on six hits, four walks while striking out 10.

Dieterich then came back to capture a 5-1 victory over Robinson Saturday.

The Movin' Maroons held a 3-0 first inning lead. Both teams scored a single run in the fifth and Dieterich finished out with a run in the sixth.

Dieterich had nine hits in the contest led by Britton with a single, double and an RBI, Dill with a single and double and Austin Ruholl with two singles and two RBI.

Garrett Niebrugge was the winner on the mound, going five innings, allowing one run on six hits, one walk while striking out 10.

At Neoga

South Central called on Flora and blanked the Wolves by a 6-0 count Friday.

The Cougars held a 1-0 lead until the fifth then tallied three runs and scored single runs in the sixth and seventh.

Anthony Buonaura went five innings on the mound for the win. He gave up two hits, three walks while striking out four. Spencer Johannes came on to throw the final two innings allowing one hit, two walks and striking out three.

South Central was led by Brandt Hiestand with a solo home run. Buonaura aided his own cause with a double. Ethan Watwood had a single and drove in a run.
