Effingham St. Anthony hitters had an eye for the baseball Wednesday as the Bulldogs tallied an 11-4 high school victory over Charleston.

The Bulldogs finished with 13 hits in the game, 10 of their 11 runs counting as RBI.

Eli Levitt finished with two singles, a double and drove in two runs while Brady Hatton had two singles and two RBI and Will Hoene added two singles and an RBI. Eli LInk finished with a double and two RBI. Garnering an RBI each with a single were Colton Fearday, Brody Niebrugge and Connor Roepke.

C. Fearday went five innings on the mound, allowing three runs on four hits, four walks while striking out seven. Brock Fearday finished out the final two innings, allowing one run on four hits.

The Bulldogs trailed Charleston 3-2 until the third then moved ahead 4-3. St. Anthony then had a three-run fifth and a four-run sixth.

At Effingham

Casey-Westfield held a 6-4 lead after three innings before Effingham took charge with a six-run fourth and went on for a 15-6 victory Wednesday.

The big inning for Casey-Westfield came thanks to a triple by Rece Overbeck, a ground out by Joe Short and an error on a ball put in play by Brayson Chrysler.

Effingham moved ahead in the fourth with six runs then added on two in the fifth and finished with three in the sixth.

In the sixth, Kaiden Nichols drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored another run. John Harper drew a walk, scoring a run and another error scored a run. Max Hardiek singled scoring two runs.

Andrew Donaldson went four innings, allowing no runs on no hits, striking out four and walking one for the win on the mound.. Quest Hull threw two innings in relief.

Hull hit a solo home run in the first inning and finished with three RBI while Gauge Massey had a double and two RBI, John Harper a double and an RBI and Joe Matteson a double. Max Hardiek added a single and  two RBI and Gabe Eaton two singles and an RBI. Kaiden Nichols had a single and an RBI along with drawing three walks.

At Beecher City

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City tallied an 8-4 win over Neoga in a rain-shortened six inning contest Wednesday.

The Bobcats edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead. Neoga moved ahead with three in the top of the fourth but CHBC tied in the bottom of the frame. Neoga moved ahead 4-3 in the fifth. CHBC then came back with five runs in the bottom of the sixth as Quaid Schlanser hit a grand slam. Schlanser also had a single in the contest.

Silas Buzzard had the only other extra base hit with a double. Wes Radloff had a single and two RBI and Clayton Wojcik a single and an RBI. Rylee Fisher added an RBI.

Neoga was led by Staszak with a solo home run. Quinton Richards and Trey Sheehan added two singles each while Will O'Dell had a double and Kaden Will and Luke Romack a single and an RBI each.

At Beecher City

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg easily took care of Ramsey by a 16-0 count in four innings Wednesday.

The Hatchets stepped out to a 9-0 first inning lead then tacked on three in the second and four in the third.

Samuel Vonderheide threw a one-hitter with no walks while striking out 12.

WSS had seven hits led by Gavan Wernsing with a double, Lance Lankow with two singles and two RBI, Tyler Wetherell with two singles and Kendall Morris and Jackson Gurgel with two RBI each.

At Strasburg

Brownstown/St. Elmo moved above the .500 mark with a 16-1 pounding of Martinsville Wednesday.

The Bombers took a 4-0 first inning lead then had an 11-run second. BSE had 10 hits in the contest while Jarrett Pasley held the Bluestreaks to two hits, one walk while striking out five.

Adam Atwood had two singles, two doubles and three RBI while Kevin Hall had a single, double and an RBI. Dalton Myers added a double and three RBI while Wyatt Chandler had a triple and three RBI. Pasley had a single and drove in three runs.

Brownstown/St. Elmo returns to action Friday against Mulberry Grove.

Newton edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead on Mount Carmel and held that until the fifth when the Eagles scored one more to take a 2-0 victory Wednesday.

Newton had four hits led by Ben Meinhart, Gage Reynolds, Owen Mahaffey and Gus Bierman with a single each. Mason Mulvey had an RBI.

Mason Schafer threw 6.1 innings allowing no runs on three hits, one walk while striking out eight. Meinhart finished out the contest getting the final two outs.

At Newton
