Altamont, Newton Claim Baseball Wins

The Indians edged out to a 2-1 first inning lead before Robbins came to the plate in the second, knocking in two runs on a single and the Indians led 7-1.
Altamont had a four-run third and finished out with two in the fifth.
Robbins finished with a single, double and four RBI, Phillips two singles and four RBI and Mason Robinson had a single and drove in three runs. Jared Hammer also drove in a run on a single.
The Indians stole eight bases in the contest, three by Robinson.
Aaron McManaway pitched 3.2 innings for the win, allowing three runs on four hits, six walks and four strikeouts. Mason Winn came on to finish out the 1.1 innings, allowing no hits, no walks while striking out three.
Altamont went above the .500 mark with a 7-6 record.

At Newton
This contest went nine innings before Newton pulled out a 6-5 win over Dieterich Tuesday.
The Eagles held a 4-2 lead after two innings. Dieterich came back with three in the top of the fourth to lead 5-4 but Newton tied in the bottom of the frame. The game went through the next four innings before Newton won it in the bottom of the ninth.
Both teams had eight hits. Newton was led by Carder Reich and Dalton Baltzell with a double and an RBI each, Gus Bierman with three singles and Gary Lewis with two singles.
Dieterich was led by Pete Britton with a single, two doubles and an RBI and Sam Hardiek with two singles.
Isaac Flowers picked up the win, taking over in relief in the sixth and going four innings, allowing no runs on two hits, one walk and five strikeouts.

Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville edged Brownstown/St. Elmo by a 4-3 count Tuesday.
BSE held a 1-0 first inning lead and led 3-0 until the fourth. OPH tallied a run in the bottom of the fourth, two in the sixth and the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
Leading Brownstown/St. Elmo was Wyatt Chandler with a single and double, Adam Atwood with two singles and an RBI and Kyle Behl with two singles. BSE dropped to 3-4 on the season.
