WSS, Altamont, CHBC Take Baseball Victories

The Movin' Maroons edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead and held that lead until the top of the third when the Hatchets broke loose. WSS scored three runs to move ahead, then added on one in the fifth and finished out with four in the sixth.
Samuel Vonderheide led the way in hitting with a single, double and two RBI. Gavan Wernsing added a double.
Graham Kasey was the winner on the mound, going 6.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits, one walk and keeping the Maroons off the basepaths with 15 strikeouts. Vonderheide came on to get the final out on a strikeout.
Dieterich had three hits led by Pete Britton with two singles and an RBI.

At Altamont
Three pitchers combined to throw a shutout as Altamont blanked Neoga, 3-0 Monday.
Dillan Elam started on the mound going five innings, allowing one hit, three walks while striking out nine. Aden McManaway came on to go one inning, allowing one walk and striking out two. Mason Winn finished off with the final inning, allowing one walk and striking out three for a total of 14 strikeouts for the three Altamont pitchers.
Meanwhile, Altamont's offense had eight hits led by Logan Cornett with a single, double and an RBI, Elam with two singles and an RBI, Nathan Stuemke with two singles, Kaidyn Miller with a double and Mason Robinson with a single and an RBI.
Neoga's lone hit was a single by Brady Reynolds.

At Cowden
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City ran out to a 9-0 opening inning lead over Ramsey and went on for a 13-1 win in five innings via the 10-run rule Monday.
The Hornets added on two in the second and two in the fourth. Wyatt Rueff led the way offensively for CHBC with a single, double and two RBI. Silas Buzzard and Braden Doty added a single and drove in two runs each. Wes Radloff had two RBI and Hunter Pope had a single and an RBI.
CHBC improves to 3-4 on the season and will play at Okaw Valley Wednesday.
