The Wooden Shoes struck first with a run in the second inning. Logan Roepke doubled on a 3-2 count, sending the run home.
The Shoes moved ahead 2-0 in the top of the third when Brayden Gaddis singled, sending the second run home. But the Hearts came back with a run in the bottom of the frame. John Harper doubled to bring home the run.
T-town moved ahead 3-1 in the fourth but the Hearts came back to take the lead, 4-3 with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Quest Hull and Harper led the way for the Hearts, sending runners acros sthe plate with RBIs.
The Hearts led the way until the seventh when the Wooden Shoes came roaring back with four runs to pull out the 7-4 victory.
Both teams had 10 hits in the game. The Shoes were led by Mitch Althoff with three singles and an RBI, Roepke with a single, double and three RBI and Cade Buehnerkemper with two singles.
Dylan Pruemer came on in the fifth and went 2.2 innings allowing no runs on two hits, one walk and striking out two for the win on the mound.
Effingham was led in hitting by Harper with two singles, a double and two RBI while Gauge Massey had a single and double.
T-town improved to 5-2 on the season while Pruemer improved his record on the mound to 2-0. The Wooden Shoes will play host to Olney today, weather permitting.
Effingham dropped to 4-3 on the season and won't return to action until Thursday against Dieterich.

Effingham St. Anthony had a 10-hit contest in downing Mahomet-Seymour, 6-2 Monday.
St. Anthony took the first inning lead with two runs but Mahomet-Seymour tied in the top of the fourth. St. Anthony came back with four in the fifth.
Will Hoene led the way offensively with two singles, a double and two RBI while Eli Levitt had a single and double. Colton Fearday, Eli Link and Connor Roepke had a single and an RBI each.
C. Fearday was the winner on the mound going six innings, allowing two runs on five hits, two walks while striking out seven. Levitt came on in the final inning allowing one walk before striking out three.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg improved to 6-1 on the season by blanking Casey-Westfield, 5-0 Monday.
The Hatchets stepped out to a 2-0 opening inning lead then tacked on two more in the third and one in the seventh.
Gavan Wernsing hit a home run and finished with two RBI while Austin Wittenberg and Kendall Morris had a double each and Tyler Wetherel had two singles and an RBI.
Graham Kasey threw a three-hitter with three walks while striking out 12 in seven innings on the mound.

Brownstown/St. Elmo trailed Altamont 2-0 going into the bottom of the fourth inning and came up with six runs. The Bombers went on for the 7-2 victory Monday.
Kevin Hall picked up the win on the mound, going four innings, allowing two runs, one hit, one walk while striking out four.
Hall also aided his own cause with a double. Dalton Myers had two singles and drove in two runs while Brady Maxey and Jarrett Pasley had a single and an RBI each and Lukas Miller a single and two RBI.
Altamont was led by Tyler Robbins with two singles. Jared Hammer had an RBI.
Brownstown/St. Elmo improved to 2-1 on the season and is back in action Thursday against Pana.

Newton tallied a run in the sixth inning and that proved to be the winner in a 9-8 victory over Cumberland Monday.
The Pirates ran off to a 6-0 first inning lead. Newton tallied a run in the second but Cumberland scored a run in the third and held am 8-5 lead after four.
The Eagles then had a three-run fifth and produced the winning run in the sixth.
Cumberland outhit Newton by a 10-5 count but had five errors.
Isaac Flowers led Newton with a double, home run and an RBI while Mason Mulvey had a single, double and an RBI. Gage Reynolds added a single and an RBI. Owen Mahaffey and Gus Bierman had two RBI each.
Cumberland was led by Jaxon Boldt with a single, home run and two RBI, Trevin Magee with a home run and three RBI, Blake McMechan and Maddox McElravy with two singles each and Gavin Hendrix and Ross McBride with a single and an RBI each.
Mahaffey came on to go 3.1 innings on the mound for the win, allowing no runs on no hits, no walks while striking out five.

Flora came calling and picked up a 13-8 win over Dieterich Monday.
The Wolves ran out to a 7-1 opening inning lead for the win. Flora had 12 hits.
Dieterich had seven hits led by M. Michl with a triple, home run and five RBI, E. Meinhart had a single, double and an RBI while K. Boerngen had two singles.
Both teams had five errors.

Vandalia played host to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and sent the Bobcats home with a 15-5 loss in six innings Monday.
The two teams were tied at 1-1 after the first inning and CHBC took a 3-1 lead in the second and held a 4-1 lead in the top of the third. However, the Vandals came back to knot the score at 4-4 in the bottom of the third before scoring two in the fourth and fifth and ending the game with six in the sixth.
CHBC had seven hits led by Carson Evans with three singles, Silas Buzzard with two doubles and an RBI and Jacob Doty with a home run and two RBI.
