The Eagles tallied two runs in the third inning before the Hearts tied the game up on a Myles Maxedon single. Quest Hull then broke the tie in the sixth when he grounded out, scoring a run.
Brayden Pals earned the victory on the pitcher's mound. He went 2 1/3 innings allowing no runs on no hits, one walk while striking out five.
Max Hardiek had a single, double and drove in a run while Maxedon finished with three singles and two RBI.
Newton had only one hit in the game, a two-run homer by Isaac Flowers. The Eagles committed three errors..

At St. Anthony
Effingham St. Anthony easily handled Olney, downing the Tigers by a 12-2 count in five innings via the 10-run rule Monday.
The Bulldogs edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead. Olney moved ahead 2-1 in the top of the second but the Bulldogs came back with a five-run bottom of the frame then tacked on a single run in the fourth and ended the game with two in the fifth.
St. Anthony had eight hits in the contest. Angelo Mendella had a big game with two singles, a home run and six RBI. Colton Fearday added a double. Eli Link had a single and two RBI while Eli Levitt and Beau Adams had a single and drove in a run each. Brody Niebrugge and Brady Hatton had an RBI each.
Niebrugge picked up the win, going four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, one walk while striking out six. C. Fearday came in to finish out the fifth allowing one hit while striking out two.
St. Anthony's junior varsity also claimed a victory, 5-4.

At Strasburg
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's Gavan Wernsing was on fire on the mound. Wernsing struck out the first 12 Okaw Valley batters and finished with 16 strikeouts in the contest. He allowed only one walk and one hit in the 5-1 victory Monday.
WSS took a 2-0 lead in the third inning and tacked on three more in the fifth. Okaw Valley scored its lone run in the fifth.
The Hatchets had five hits led by Wernsing with two singles. Samuel Vonderheide had two RBI. Vonderheide came on the mound in the seventh to finish out the contest with one walk and one strikeout.

North Clay (Louisville) tallied a 12-1 win over Neoga in five innings via the 10-run rule Monday.
The Cardinals had a 1-0 first inning lead then had a seven run second and a four-run fourth. Neoga's lone run came in the second.
North Clay banged out 16 hits in the contest while Neoga had two. Luke Romack hit a solo homer for Neoga's only run.

At Pana
Pana came back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to edge Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 10-9 Monday.
CHBC held a 1-0 lead until the third when Pana tallied four. The Bobcats came back to move ahead 7-4 in the fourth and 8-4 in the top of the fifth. The Panthers scored three in the bottom of the fifth and tied the score in the sixth. CHBC moved ahead 9-8 in the top of the seventh but Pana tallied two in the bottom of the frame to pull out the victory.
Gage Lorton led CHBC with a single, double and two RBI while AJ Radloff had three RBI. Clayton Wojcik had a double and Silas Buzzard a single and an RBI.
CHBC dropped to 0-2 and returns to action Thursday at Cumberland.

Although South Central outhit Fairfield, the Mules came through with a 2-1 victory Monday.
Fairfield opened with a 1-0 first inning lead then tacked on a second run in the fifth. South Central scored its lone run in the top of the sixth.
M. Taylor had the Cougars on the ropes. He did allow three hits but no walks and struck out 15 for the win on the mound.
South Central's Aidan Dodson went three innings, allowing one run on one hit, two walks and four strikeouts for the loss. Spencer Johannes came on for 1.1 inning, allowing one run on three walks and two strikeouts. Anthony Buonaura went 1.2 innings allowing no runs on no hits, one walk and four strikeouts.

Dieterich was led by Noah Dill with a solo home run and Austin Ruholl two singles and Sam Hardiek with a single and an RBI.
