Verlander Reaches $25 Million One-Year Deal

Pitcher Justin Verlander has reached a $25 million one-year deal to stay with the Houston Astros, according to media reports Wednesday.

The 38-year-old will be coming back from Tommy John surgery that caused him to miss all of the 2021 season. The two-time Cy Young winner and 2011 American League MVP also only made one start in the Covid-shortened 2020 season because of his arm troubles before having the surgery.
