Padres Hire Melvin As Manager, W.S. Schedule

The San Diego Padres have hired the Oakland A’s Bob Melvin as their new manager, according to media reports Thursday.

Melvin, who’d been with Oakland for a decade, has three times been named Manager of the Year. He’ll replace Jayce Tingler, who was fired earlier this month.
