North Clay vs. WSS For NTC Tourney Title

Top-seeded North Clay blanked fifth-seeded Altamont, 5-0. The Indians put two runners on base in the opening inning but couldn't score. North Clay then tallied a run in the bottom of the frame when Collyn Ballard singled. He was moved along by a ground out then came home on a ground out by Holden Clifton.
The side went up and down in the second before the Cardinals struck again. With one out, Donnie Zimmerman reached on an error. Clifton followed with a single and Brady Ingram loaded the bases by drawing a walk. Logan Fleener drew a walk and that brought home a run. With two outs, Dakota Weidner followed with a single scoring three runs. When the dust had cleared, the Cardinals were up 5-0.
Altamont put Mason Robinson on base in the third with a single before going up and down in order in the fourth and fifth. Robinson singled again in the sixth but was left stranded and the Indians went down in order in the seventh.
Both teams finished with five hits. Weidner led the Cardinals with two singles and three RBI. Robinson led Altamont with two singles.
Zimmerman threw all seven innings allowing five hits, one walk while striking out six.
The Cardinals advance to the championship game Friday with a 25-1 record and will take on Windsor/Stewarson-Strasburg at 7 p.m.
Altamont drops to 14-8 on the season and will play for third place Friday at 4 p.m. Both games will be played at South Central.

Windsor/Stew-Stras 7, St. Anthony 0
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg broke loose in the third and fifth innings and tallied a 7-0 victory over St. Anthony Wednesday.
Gavin Wernsing threw a tremendous game, keeping St. Anthony players off guard as he struck out 10, walked only three and scattered four hits over four different innings. He went 6.2 innings before Samuel Vonderheide came on for the final out.
Meanwhile, the Hatchets went up and down in order in the first two innings before moving ahead 3-0 in the third. With one out, Carter Chaney singled. With two outs, Austin Wittenberg singled and Tyler Wetherell drew a walk. Chaney came home on an error. Wernsing aided his own cause with a double, bringing home a run.
WSS had runners on in the fourth but couldn't bring them home. But in the fifth, the Hatchets struck again with four runs. A. Wittenberg, Wernsing, Vonderheide and Graham Kasey all scored runs in the frame. Kendall Morris had a double that tallied two runs while Wernsing and Vonderheide had a single each.
Wernsing finished with a single, double and an RBI while Morris had a double and two RBI. A. Wittenberg, Vonderheide and Chaney had a single each.
St. Anthony was led by Colton Fearday, Eli LInk, Eli Levitt and Brock Fearday with a single each. The Bulldogs drop into the third place contest against Altamont at 4 p.m. Friday with a 15-6 record.
WIndsor/Stew-Stras advances with a 12-4 mark and will meet North Clay Friday at 7 p.m. for the championship. Both the title contest and the third place game will be played at South Central.
