Altamont Claims Two Victories During Weekend Baseball Action

In the Friday game, the Indians finished strong to bounce South Central, 17-7 in six innings.
The score was tied at 5-5 after three innings. Altamont moved ahead with two runs in the fourth but the Cougars tied in the top of the fifth. Altamont took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth and salted the contest away with nine in the sixth, ending the game by the 10-run rule.
There was plenty of acton on the basepaths as the Indians collected 16 hits that included five doubles. Tyler Robbins had two singles, a double and two RBI while Kienon Eirhart and Wyatt Phillips a single, double and two RBI. Mason Robinson had a single, double and four RBI, Mason Winn a double and two RBI, Logan Cornett three singles and three RBI and Nathan Stuemke two singles and an RBI.
South Central had nine hits led by Dodson with a single, double and an RBI, Magnus two singles and an RBI, Thompson two singles and Dunn a single and three RBI.
In Saturday's contest, Altamont's Nathan Stuemke threw a shutout as the Indians blanked Woodlawn, 5-0.
Stuemke went all seven innings, allowing one hit, three walks while striking out 11.
Dillan Elam had two singles to lead the way offensively for the Indians. Justin Magelitz had a double and drove in a run while Aden McManaway had a single and an RBI and Nathan Shepard an RBI.
