Tt-town Beats St. A, Wins DH; S. Central Downs Neoga

Teutopolis High School claimed three baseball victories during weekend action.

The Wooden Shoes defeated Effingham St. Anthony, 7-4 in Friday play.

T-town stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead but the Bulldogs came back with four runs in the second to knot the score.

The Wooden Shoes then had a three-run fifth for the victory.

Derek Konkel led the way for T-town with a home run and three RBI. Kayden Althoff and Logan Roepke had two singles and an RBI reach. Cade Buehnerkemper had a single and drove in a run.

K. Althoff was the winning pitcher going 6.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits, two walks and striking out eight.

St. Anthony was led in hitting by Angelo Mendella with a single and two RBI and Colton Fearday with a single and an RBI.

Teutopolis then claimed a doubleheader over Putnam County Saturday.

In the first contest, T-town was a 9-1 winner in five innings. Sam Bushur improved his pitching record to 2-1. Bushur went all five innings allowing no runs on one hit, one walk and eight strikeouts.

The Shoes had six hits led by Bushur with a single, triple and two RBI and K. Althoff with a double and two RBI.

In the second contest, the Shoes took a 1-0 win in five innings.

The lone run came in the first inning. Joey Ruholl had a single that knocked in the run.

Tyler Pruemer was the winner on the mound going five innings allowing no runs on one hit, no walks and six strikeouts.

T-town is now 12-8 on the season and is back in action today hosting Dieterich in a game that will be heard on KJ Country 102.3.

At Kinmundy

South Central tallied a National Trail Conference victory over Neoga Friday, 9-3.

The Cougars stepped out to a 1-0 first inning lead and tallied four in the third and fifth innings.

South Central had 11 hits in the contest led by B. Jolliff with two singles, a double and three RBI, A. Dodson with two singles and a double, S. Johannes with a single, double and two RBI and A. Magnus with a single and double.
