Altamont Bounces Neoga, St. A Downs Dieterich In Baseball Action

NEOGA -- Mason Robinson drove in four runs on three hits as Altamont High School bounced Neoga, 15-3 in five innings of baseball action Friday.

Altamont secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the fifth inning. The Indians big bats were led by Nathan Shepard, Jared Hammer and Robinson, all knocking in runs in the inning. Robinson's big hit was a grand slam.

Robinson finished with a single, double, home run and four RBI while Shepard and Wyatt Phillips had two singles and an RBI each and Hammer a single and two RBI. Mason Winn had a double and drove in a run and Nathan Stuemke had a single and an RBI.

Robinson also was the winning pitcher, going three innings, allowing three runs on one hit, four walks while striking out four. Aden McManaway came on to throw two innings with one walk and three strikeouts.

Neoga was led by Will O'Dell with a home run, two singles and two RBI.

At Dieterich

Effingham St. Anthony stepped out to a 4-1 early lead and went on for a 12-1 victory over Dieterich Friday in six innings.

The Bulldogs had their bats hot with 16 hits in the contest. Colton Fearday, Brody Niebrugge, Will Hoene and Eli Levitt had three singles each. Fearday and Levitt added an RBI each. Brock Jansen had a double and drove in two runs while Samuel Link had two singles and an RBI. Beau Adams added a triple and an RBI.

Niebrugge went five innings on the mound, allowing one run on three hits, two walks and eight strikeouts for the win.

Dieterich had four hits, all singles by Noah Dill, Garrett Niebrugge, Braden Shadle and Jaxon Funneman.
