North Clay Wins Teutopolis Wooden Bat Title

In the opening game of the day, Teutopolis blanked Dieterich, 12-0, ending the game in the fifth.
The Wooden Shoes held a 4-0 first inning lead then added on a run in the second and finished out with seven in the fifth.
The Shoes had seven hits led by Cade Buehnerkemper with a single, double and four RBI. Mitch Althoff had a triple and two RBI while Logan Roepke and Dylan Pruemer had a double each.
Dieterich had two hits, a double by Braden Shadle and a single by Austin Ruholl.
The second game went to North Clay/Clay City over St. Anthony, 4-2. The Cardinals edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead before St. Anthony tied in the third and moved ahead 2-1 in the fifth. However, North Clay provided three runs in the bottom of the sixth for the victory.
Donnie Zimmerman had two singles and drove in a run while Holden Clifton had a triple and an RBI and Carson Burkett a single and an RBI.
St. Anthony was led by Angelo Mendella with a double and an RBI and Colton Fearday with a single and an RBI.
Layton Dawkins picked up the win, going three innings allowing one run on one hit and two walks. Collyn Ballard started the game going three innings, allowing one run on one hit, three walks and three strikeouts.
In the third place contest, St. Anthony pounded Dieterich, 19-2 in four innings.
The Bulldogs had 11 hits led by Brody Niebrugge with a single, double and an RBI and Brock Fearday with three singles and two RBI.
Dieterich had two hits, singles by Noah Dill and Austin Ruholl.
Brady Hatton claimed the win on the mound going 2.2 innings, allowing one hit, no walks while striking out six.
In the championship, North Clay trailed the Wooden Shoes 12-3 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, then pulled within 12-7 with four runs in the bottom of the sixth.
The Cardinals then came back with six runs in the bottom of the seventh and beat the Shoes 13-12 on a walkoff single by Dakota Weidner.
T-town outhit the Cardinals by a 16-12 count and North Clay had six errors in the contest. But North Clay came up big in the final inning when it counted.
Collyn Ballard had two singles, a double and two RBI while Donnie Zimmerman had three singles and three RBI. Brady Ingram had two singles and four RBI. Logan Fleener had a single and drove in two runs.
T-town was led by Sam Bushur who went five-for-five with five singles and an RBI. Kayden Althoff had a single, triple and three RBI, Logan Roepke a single, double and two RBI, Derek Konkel with a double and two RBI, Brayden Gaddis with two singles and two RBI and Cade Buehnerkemper with two singles.
