St. A, S. Central Claim Wins; Neoga Downs Dieterich In H.S. Baseball

CENTRALIA -- Effingham St. Anthony broke a 0-0 tie with a two-run fourth then tacked on another run in the fifth and finished out with a 3-1 victory over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran in high school baseball action Saturday.

The Bulldogs had only two hits, singles by Beau Adams and Brock Jansen. Jansen and Max Koenig had an RBi each.

Colton Fearday went five innings for the win on the mound. He allowed no runs on three hits, no walks while striking out 10. Brody Niebrugge finished out the final two innings allowing one run on two hits, no walks and two strikeouts.

At Centralia

At Woodlawn

South Central blanked Woodlawn, 16-0 in Saturday action.

The Cougars stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead then added on eight in the second and four in the third to end the contest in the fourth.

South Central had five hits led by Joliff with a home run and five RBI, Hiestand with a single, double and two RBI and Thompson with a single and two RBI. Dodson added two RBI.

Dodson picked up the victory on the mound going two innings, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out five.

At Dieterich

Dieterich fell victim to Neoga in a Friday contest, 6-1.

Neoga tallied five in the third and finished out with one in the fourth. The Indians had six hits led by Hennesay with a double and Richards with a single and two RBI. Reynolds and O'Dell had a single and an RBI each. Romack and Koester had an RBi each.

Dieterich was led by Noah Dill with two singles, a home run and an RBI, J. Funneman with three singles and Garrett Niebrugge with a single and double.

Romack picked up the win on the mound for Neoga, going three innings allowing four hits, no walks while striking out three.

In a Thursday contest, Dieterich pounded  Ramsey, 15-1 in four innings.

The Movin' Maroons had 15 hits led by J. Funneman with two singles, a double and an RBI, S. Hardiek, with three isngles and two RBI, Niebrugge with a single, doubel and three RBI, Dill with a double and J. Holste with a double and three RBI. Iffert added two singles.
