Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Thursday pitcher Trevor Bauer is still expected to start Sunday, even as both police and Major League Baseball are investigating a woman’s assault allegations against him.

Roberts said it is “out of our hands,” saying he was following MLB’s recommendation to go forward with Bauer.

The accuser, who obtained an order of protection against Bauer, claims he assaulted her during two sexual encounters, including choking her to unconsciousness, punching her in the face, and punching her in the genitals. His attorney denies it, saying they had a “brief and wholly consensual sexual relationship.”
