TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School ran into a buzzsaw in the Class 2A Baseball Sectional Wednesday.

The Wooden Shoes fell to Columbia, 13-2 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Columbia stepped out to a 2-0 first inning lead as Matt Howard singled with one out. With two outs, Jackson Holmes drew a walk. Dom Voegele had an RBI single.

In the second, the Eagles tacked on three more runs on four singles, a hit by pitch and a walk. The lead went to 10-0 in the third as Columbia tallied five more runs and then 13-0 in the fourth with three more runs on a single, double, a walk and an error.

The Wooden Shoes rapped at the door through the first three innings. T-town left two runners stranded in the first, one in the second and two more in the third.

T-town finally broke loose with two runs in the fourth. Dylan Pruemer singled and took second on a wild pitch. Logan Roepke reached on a dropped strike and an error by the catcher. Derek Deters drew a walk to load the bases. Sam Bushur had an infield single and drove in a run.

But the Shoes couldn't hold off the 10-run rule as they put only one runner on in the fifth, Evan Addis on a walk.

Bushur had two singles and an RBI to lead the Shoes. T-town ended the season with a 21-10 record.
