Teutopolis Downs Greenville For Regional Title; Other 2A Scores

Teutopolis claimed the Class 2A Regional championship.

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School's Evan Addis came through on the mound while the Wooden Shoes' offense was on target in an 8-5 victory over Greenville to win the Class 2A, Regional A championship Monday.

Addis threw a four-hitter with no walks and was hitting the strike zone with 11. Addis improved his record to 5-2 on the season.

Meanwhile, the Shoes had 10 hits led by Kayden Althoff with two singles, a double and an RBI, Andy Niebrugge with two singles and two RBI. Derek Konkel added a double while Evan Wermert and Logan Roepke had a single and two RBI each.

The Shoes jumped on the board in the first with two runs, then tacked on five in the third. Greenville came back with three in the fourth and pulled within 7-5 in the top of the sixth. But the Shoes added on a final run in the bottom of the sixth.

T-town improved to 21-9 on the spring and will now play host to Columbia, a 10-1 winner over Breese Central, Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
