Windsor/Stew-Stras Edges Sullivan; Area Roundup

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg tallied two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge Sullivan 5-4 in high school baseball action Monday.
Sullivan took a 2-0 first inning lead and led 4-1 after three innings. Windsor/Stew-Stras tallied two in the fifth to pull within 4-3 and then scored the tying and winning runs in the sixth.
Christian Vonderheide had three hits in the contest while Gunner Theis had two hits and two RBI. Justin Fulk and Ian Stremming had the other RBI. Dylan Ohnesorge picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter with one walk and two strikeouts.
The winners are back in action Wednesday at Effingham.

South Central blasted Odin 14-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule.
The Cougars had a three-run third, a nine-run fourth and finished out with two in the fifth. South Central knocked out three home runs in the contest. Heath Hoffmann had a three-run homer in the third and finished with four RBI, Austin Schwarm had a two-run shot in the fourth and had two RBI and Braden Will had a two-run shot in the fifth. Noah Powless finished with two singles, a double and an RBI.
Powless picked up the pitching win going three innings, allowing no hits, no walks and striking out five. Rudy Hablewitz came on in the fourth and pitched a no-hitter over two innings with one walk.

Neoga downed Altamont by the 10-run rule 11-1 in five innings.
Neoga's Riley Walk pitched a two-hitter with two walks and four strikeouts. Walk had a home run and three RBI for the winners while Tyler Romack had a home run and four RBI. Neoga is now 8-2 on the season.
Altamont had singles by Ziegler and Scholes.

Newton trailed Lawrenceville 2-1 after four innings then broke loose with three runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh in Little Illini Conference play.
Tanner Shull was the winning pitcher, going six innings, allowing five hits, two walks and striking out eight. Leading the Eagles in hits were Schackmann with two singles and two RBI, Davidson with a single, double and two RBI and Shull with two singles and two RBI.

St. Elmo/s Connor Beasley set a school record with 19 strikeouts as the Eagles blanked Brownstown 8-0.
Beasley pitched all seven innings, allwoing two hits, one walk and breaking Logan Mahon's record of 18 strikeouts.
The two teams went scoreless through the first three innings before the Eagles tallied five in the fourth and finished out with three in the sixth.
Dalton Parks had two singles and a double while Nick Bauer had a double and an RBI and Beasley two singles and an RBI.
The Bombers drop to 1-5 while St. Elmo improves to 3-2.
