Effingham scored its first two runs in the series in the third inning. Kalen Reardon reached on an error, Matthew Loy reached on an error, and Joe Matteson singled both runners home to give the Hearts a 2-0 lead.
That, however, proved to be Effingham's only hit of the game after being no-hit on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs' Angelo Mendella reached on an error to start the fifth and he came around to score on an errant throw on a bunt attempt down the right field line. The Hearts rallied to throw a runner heading to second base for one out, then threw another runner heading home on the same play for a wild double play to stop that rally and leave the Hearts in front by a run.
In the sixth, though, Kennan Walsh singled and Colton Fearday doubled to start the inning. Eli Moore than singled home a run to tie the game and Brody Niebrugge singled to bring home the lead run. Will Hoene then singled home another run and Eli Levitt drove home the fourth run with a sacrifice fly.
Seth Hotze pitched six innings to gain the win for St. Anthony, allowing just one hit and five walks while fanning eight. Eli Levitt pitched the seventh with one walk and one strikeout.
For St. Anthony, Kennan Walsh and Eli Link each had two hits, while Colton Fearday, Eli Moore, Brody Niebrugge, Will Hoene and Angelo Mendella each had a hit. Moore, Niebrugge, Hoene and Levitt each drove in a run.
Jack Blickem took the loss for the Hearts, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk in five innings work. Gauge Massey pitched the final two innings.
Despite the sweep, Effingham is still 10-4 on the season. St. Anthony, meanwhile, is 13-1.
