Highland downed Effingham High School 10-0 in Friday high school baseball action.

The Hearts had only four hits in the contest led by Carie, Daugherty, Frey and Mahaffey with a single each.

In a freshman contest, Highland won 9-5. Barnes had two singles and two RBI, Koester, a single and an RBI, Poland a single and Buhrman an RBI. The Hearts are 1-2.

BCCH had 10 hits in the contest led by A.J. Miller with a double, triple and an RBI, Blake McKay with two singles and an RBI and Wyatt Giles with two singles. Blake McKay pitched the win going six innings, allowing seven hits, three walks and striking out six.
