Antrim went the full seven innings, allowing no runs on four hits, two walks while striking out seven. He had command of his pitches, scattered the Hearts' hits and didn't let them get anything going.
The Bulldogs rumbled in the first three innings, leaving five on base, but finally broke loose with two runs in the fourth. With one out, Angelo Mendella drew a walk and reached second on an error. Eli Levitt followed with a single that scored Mendella. Levitt came home on an error on a throw that shot past the third baseman.
EHS had a runner on in the second as Joe Matteson singled but he was left stranded. EHS put two runners on in the third as Quest Hull drew a walk and Gauge Massey singled, but again the Hearts couldn't take advantage.
The Hearts again got runners on base in the fourth with back-to-back singles as Max Nelson and Dylan Cunningham had the hits but again, couldn't bring them home.
The Bulldogs tallied their third run in the fifth. With two outs, Eli Moore doubled, went to third on a passed ball and came home on a wild pitch.
Both teams went up and down to end the contest.
"That was fun," said St. Anthony Coach Tony Kreke. "It was nice to come out on top. I can't say enough about Logan. He was able to comamnd the strike zone. Logan knows what to throw and trusts his catcher. The defense is starting to come around. Defense and pitching are going to win big games.
"We're a real good hitting team and we were just able to come out with a few runs."
Brody NIebrugge led the way for the Bulldogs with a single and double while Levitt had two singles and an RBI and Moore and Eli LInk a double each.
The Bulldogs improved to 12-1 on the season.
Curran McNeely, Effingham's coach began his first season last year but didn't get to coach a game due to COVID-19 protocals.
"We were five days away last year from starting the season," said McNeely. "But it was nice to get back to playing. We struggled at the plate a little bit. But hats off to Antrim, he pitched a good game. We'll be fine, we just need to clean up on defense.
"We threw a handful of pitchers. Jackson Lee was at the 45 pitch count so we took him out so he can go Saturday in our conference game."
The Hearts had four singles in the game by Gauge Massey, Joe Matteson, Max Nelson and Dylan Cunningham. The Hearts drop to 10-2 on the season.
Game two is scheduled for today at Evergreen Hollow Park at 7 p.m., Listen to the game on 979 XFM.
